What to expect

This is a relaxed, confidential conversation. It is not an interview and it is not a high-pressure sales call.

It is an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day, talk openly about what is happening in your business or role, and explore whether mentoring could help you move forward.

We will usually cover:

  • What prompted you to book the call now
  • What is working well and what is proving difficult
  • Your most important priorities, opportunities or concerns
  • What you would like to achieve over the next six to twelve months
  • What may be getting in the way of progress
  • Whether mentoring, coaching, practical business support or another approach would be most useful

A little preparation

You do not need to prepare a presentation, business plan or detailed financial information.

However, it will be helpful to spend a few minutes considering these questions before we speak:

  • What is the one thing you most want to change or improve right now?
  • What would be different in your work, business or life if that changed?
  • What has stopped you from making that change so far?

You do not need perfect answers. A little reflection beforehand will help us make the best use of our time together.

What you will take away

By the end of the call, you should have:

  • Greater clarity about the issue or opportunity that matters most
  • A clearer view of your immediate priorities
  • An honest view on whether mentoring is likely to help
  • A practical recommendation on the most appropriate next step

Sometimes that next step will be mentoring. In other cases, it may be a different form of support, further reflection, or simply a decision that now is not the right time.
